Thesis Format Files

The files listed below are provided to help students format their Ph.D. dissertations using LaTeX. You can use these files as a template to write your thesis. The files and their contents are:

mystyle.sty: style definitions.
psfig.sty: style file for PS figures (put this file in the same directory where you have all your .TEX files).
epsfig.sty: style file for EPS figures.
thesis.tex: the main tex file that includes all the parts of the document. Using the include only command it is possible to "compile" only one tex file at a time while keeping the chapter, equations, bibliography, etc., numbering correct.
header.tex: command and document definitions.
title.tex: all the preliminary pages. Here you have how to add a list of symbols/abbreviations after the index.
chapter1.tex: example of how to start the document and include an eps or ps figure, and tables.
chapter7.tex: example of how to finish the document and use the bibliography.

Here you can find some changes Jarek Tuszynski has added for the bibliography. You need to put the following files in the indicated locations to use this Bibtex template:

csiphd.bst file in your directory
\bibliography{mybib} command in chapter7.tex
mybib.bib file with your bibliography database

And these are the files you need:

csiphd.bst: this is the macro file.
mybib.bib: this shows how to cite the reference.

If you have any questions about this Bibtex, send e-mail to jarek@chopin.gmu.edu
