The academic and research activities of the School of Computational Sciences are organized into several units termed Programs. The Programs are semi-autonomous units with their own faculty and Chairs. The current Programs are listed below, along with the respective Program Chairs: SCS Programs Bioinformatics and Computational Biology: J. Grefenstette, Chair Climate Dynamics: J. Shukla, Chair Earth Systems and Geoinformation Sciences: D. Wong, Chair Planetary, Atmospheric, and Space Sciences: J.
