The CSI courses in computational statistics generally have as prerequisites one or more courses in applied statistics and statistical inference. The computational statistics courses generally require use of a flexible computer program such as S-Plus, R, or Matlab. A programming language such as Fortran or C is required in CSI 701, as well as an introductory course in numerical analysis such as the CSI core course, CSI 700.

Most courses meet once a week in the late afternoon at 4:30 p.m. or the early evening at 7:20 p.m. In most courses outlines, class notes, assignments, and datasets are available online. Students submit completed assignments, projects, and questions electronically. In some courses students build a set of Web pages to describe their projects.

The listings below include some homepages used in the courses.
